Robert B. Carmichael Sr

Robert B. Carmichael Sr., of Brockton formerly of Randolph, passed away after a period of failing health Jan. 10, 2015 at the age of 91. Husband of the late Lois-Marie (Reynolds) Carmichael. Loving father of Paul R. Carmichael of Easton, Robert B. Carmichael Jr. of Gulfport, Miss., Carol Drake and Kathy Staula Surette both of Brockton. Brother of the late Andrew H., William J., Walter, and Donald Carmichael, Ethel Stevens, Helen Steele, Dorothy Oborski, Gertrude Brown, and Victoria Studer. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Boston grew up in Randolph and has lived in Brockton for almost 65 years. He was a Mason by trade and an active member of Bricklayers Union Local #3, Boston for over 40 years. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and will be fondly remembered by family and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. in the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 N. Main St., Randolph MA 02368. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours on Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to either; Cotting School, c/o Advancement Office, 453 Concord Avenue, Lexington, MA 02421 or to Special Olympics Massachusetts, The Yawkey Sports Training Center, 512 Forest Street, Marlborough, MA.
