Pasqualina V. Karlson

Pasqualina Pat V. (Fazzari) Karlson, of Bridgewater, passed away on Jan. 3, at the age of 86. She was daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Speranza) Fazzari. Pat was born on Aug. 14, 1928 in Framingham, Massachusetts. To help support her family, she began working at an early age for Dennison Shoe Factory. In 1946, Pat married the late Howard L. Smith and the two raised their family in Bridgewater. After Howard passed away, she married Arthur Karlson in 1962 and continued to live in Bridgewater. Pat also worked at the Bridgewater middle school cafeteria for 15 years and then St. Thomas Aquinas Rectory until her retirement. She loved to dance, going bowling, hosting parties, cake decorating, and crocheting afghans for everyone. She enjoyed her time spent at casinos, particularly the slots and buffets where she would try a little bit of everything. Mother of Joyce A. Anderson and her husband Mike of Plymouth, Susan E. Kaplinger and her husband Roger of Middleboro, Karen L. Hickey and her husband John of Bridgewater, Arthur R. Karlson Jr. and his wife Lynn of Bridgewater, the late Howard L. Smith Jr. and Barbara J. Coderre. Sister of Eleanor Haining of Delaware, Ruth Cook of Florida, Anthony Fazzari of North Carolina, Phyllis Speer and Joseph Fazzari of California, the late Frank Fazzari, Mary Swain, and Kathleen Pohlman. Nana to 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. in Bridgewater on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 5 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
