Wallace (Wally or Bud) Gregg was born in Tenstrike Minnesota on May 21, 1926 to parents Roy and Ella Gregg. He passed away from complications of Alzheimer's on July 2, 1995 with his family by his side.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ella Gregg and brother Kenneth Gregg. He is survived by his wife June Gregg, children Ken, Scott, Debbie (Lyons) and Mike; sisters Lois Statton and Joyce Faecke; grandchildren Rachel, Nick and Brad Lyons and Kristen Gregg; and great grandchildren Bryce and Mia and Wyatt Lyons.
After graduating from high school in May 1944 Wally joined the Air force (Army Air Core) and served in the pacific as a tail gunner in a B17. Even when suffering from the later stages of Alzheimer's, he would talk of flying weather missions over Japan prior to the end of the war.
After his discharge from the service, he met his wife June. They were married August 26 1950 and started their family in Bemidji. Wally went to work for the Gambles hardware chain as a salesman. In 1965 Wally joined Red Wing Shoe company and moved the family to Sacramento California. He worked for Red Wing Shoes until his retirement in 1989.
During the late 70's and 80's Wally and June made frequent trips to Alaska to visit and fish with sons Mike and Ken.
Wally loved fishing; flying model airplanes and hunting with his sons; and golf.
