March 10, 1924 - January 18, 2015 OKLAHOMA CITY Evelyn T. Proctor, affectionately known as ''Meme'', was born 3/10/24 to Josiah & Eliza Thompson. She graduated Salutatorian of her high school class in Neyland-ville, TX, and studied cosmetology while attending Lang-ston University. In 1945, she met and married Willie ''Candyman'' Proctor, who preceded her in death. That same year, she was baptized and dedicated her life to God, His church, and teaching others. She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ until her death. In 1946, Evelyn became co-founder of Nilar Jewell Beauty School in OKC. In 1958, she began working at Triangle Beauty Shop - where for many years she exhibited Christian values on a daily basis. Evelyn departed this life on 1/18/15, surrounded by her family. She is survived by 2 sisters, Ethel (Samuel) McCarty and Doretha (David) Starks, 1 brother, Homer (Frankie) Thompson, all of OKC, a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends. Evelyn played an integral role in helping to shape our lives, and we are eternally grateful for everything that she was to us. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday 1/26/15 at the Northeast Church of Christ under the direction of Rolfe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 9-6 PM. Interment will be at Arlington Memory Gardens.
