Wanda L. Hop, 80, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Jan. 21, 2015 surrounded by her family at her home in Holland, Mich. She was born in Zeeland, and spent her childhood years there, graduating from Zeeland High School in 1951.She began her working career at the Herman Miller Furniture Company in Zeeland, followed by positions in the University of Michigan Housing Office in Ann Arbor, the Midland Community Tennis Center and ending her career retiring as the receptionist at The Dow Chemical Co. Corporate Center in 1998. Wanda met Duane Hop at Zeeland High School and they were married July 29, 1955. They were blessed with two children, Mary Jo and Jon Duane. The family moved to Midland in 1966 and she spent her years there raising their children and accompanying Duane as often as possible as he travelled extensively for The Dow Chemical Co. Wanda and Duane moved to Holland in 2000 to be close to their children and families. She was a former member of the Midland Reformed Church and is currently a member of Harderwyk Ministries in Holland. She is survived by her husband, Duane; children, Mary Jo (Dr. Michael) Dean and Dr. Jon (Emily) Hop; grandchildren, Jon, Kaitlin and Emily Dean and Zoe and Ingrid Hop. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015 at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 East 16th Street, Holland. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at Harderwyk Ministries, 1627 Lakewood Blvd., Holland, Mich., where she is currently a member. Interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens with private services for family members.
