Eloise Carpenter

Eloise Carpenter, a long-time resident of the Oxnard area, died Saturday the 17th of January at Lina's Guest House. She was born on March 31, 1930 in McComb, Mississippi. She was 84 years old. In her younger days, Eloise worked at a Tea Room in McComb and later devoted her life to being a devoted wife and wonderful mother to her beloved children. She loved her church and attended regularly until she became ill. She also enjoyed movies. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Over the past few years, Eloise had the privilege of being cared for by Celina Albuna, owner of Lina's Guest House in Oxnard. Lina took great care of her and treated her with dignity, respect and loved our mother as her own. We will always be thankful and grateful to Lina and her staff. She is survived by her daughters, Etta Carpenter of Kansas, Mary Slayton of Maryland and Robin Moultrie of Texas with her husband, Samuel F. Moultrie, Jr. Grandchildren: Clarence Slayton III and wife Crystal, Samuel F. Moultrie III and wife Katrina, Tai Moultrie-Korn and husband A J, and along with several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Carpenter of Oxnard, CA and her two sons, Paul and Silas, Jr. also of Oxnard, CA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 26th at FDA Conrad's Funeral Home located at 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd., Oxnard, CA 93033. The viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Ivy Lawn Cemetery in Ventura immediately following the service.
