Janice was born in Missouri, raised in Bakers field, and graduated from East Bakersfield High with fond memories of being a majorette at the Rose Bowl Parade and Game. Jan went on to graduate from Fresno State.

Her life is defined by the energy, generosity and selflessness that she exhibited and which touched everyone's life that she came in contact with. She loved life and even after her stroke and loss of speech it never prevented her from communicating her zest for life and to think of others before herself.
