Griffith, Jane Beall

WILLIAMSBURG - Jane Beall Griffith passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Mrs. Griffith was a native of Darnestown, Maryland and a Williamsburg resident since 1989. The daughter of Arthur W. and Josephine W. Beall, Mrs. Griffith is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Griffith, her parents, and her brothers, Arthur, Jr. and George Peter. She was a graduate of Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont. The Griffiths raised their family in McLean, Virginia where Mrs. Griffith was a successful realtor while her husband served in the United States Army and later for the federal government. A longtime member of Bruton Parish, Mrs. Griffith was an active participant in the Windsor Meade retirement community. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Jane Morris and her husband, J. Donald Morris of Gainesville, Virginia, and her son, Thomas Beall Griffith and his wife, Susan Stell Griffith of Round Hill, Virginia. Mrs. Griffith was the grandmother of eight (Kimberly Jane Richbourg, Stephanie Moore, Chelsea Watts, Megan Clegg, Robert Griffith, Erin Magnusson, Victoria Strong, and Tanne Griffith), and the great-grandmother of thirteen (Carlen Jane, Kyle, and Casey Richbourg; Mackensie and Garner Moore; Sawyer and Henry Watts; Caroline Beall, Mary Grace, Emery and Sadie Clegg; and Hadley and soon-to-be born, Ari Jane Magnusson). A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the ballroom at Windsor Meade, 3900 Windsor Hall Dr., Williamsburg, VA, with a reception to follow. Burial will be alongside her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.
