Jacqueline M. Kern

Jacqueline M. Kern, 20, beloved and precious daughter of Lisa and Fred D. Kern of Bridgewater, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 1, 2015. Jackie, who graduated Bridgewater - Raynham Regional High School in 2013, was an outstanding student athlete. She was a member of the National Honor Society and a member of the B-R field hockey team for four years. She also participated in track, lacrosse, and the ski club. Jackie was currently enrolled as a sophomore in the nursing program at the University of Connecticut, and had aspirations to become a nurse practitioner. While a UCONN student, she volunteered as a tutor at a local prison, taught ESL to international students, and tutored elementary school students. She was member of South Shore Community Church. Jackie had a keen mind, a warm smile, a joyful spirit, and a great sense of humor. She was voted Most likely to brighten your day as a senior at B-R. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her loving siblings, Lydia, Benjamin, Emily, and Alison Kern. She is also the granddaughter of Martha and Fred W. Kern of Bridgewater, and Leonard J. Kisalus and the late Lydia Kisalus of Dublin, Ga. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Visiting hours from 4 - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater (additional parking available at Legion Field) A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 7, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center Street, Bridgewater at 10 a.m, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacqueline M. Kern memorial fund, c/o Bridgewater Pediatrics, 1440 Pleasant Street Bridgewater, MA, 02324. This fund will be used to support the Redemption Road Womens Ministry, and The Well, a Bridgewater based non-profit counseling and wellness center.
