LAKELAND - Robert 'Bob' William Fick, Sr., passed away on Sunday morning January 11, 2015, at the age of 85 at his home in Lakeland from congestive heart failure with his loving family by his side.
Bob was born on February 19, 1929, in Baltimore, MD. He was preceded by his son, Robert, Jr. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara; two sons, Michael (Karen), Timothy (Barbara) and daughter Mary Jean, along with 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and after graduating from the University of Baltimore he worked for Mosaic Tile then Celotex Roofing Products and was a Board of Director of B&F Ceramics Design Showroom, Inc. in northern VA since 1974.
He was one of the founding fathers of the Braddock Road Boys Club in Springfield, VA, before retiring to Florida. Bob was a member of the Polk County Blind Veterans and started the Cypress Lake Veterans Association in Cypress Lakes, as well as a Fourth Degree Knight.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Lakeland.
